Pee Dee Writers

          Ashley Long is the Municipal Liaison for the Pee Dee, SC, NaNoWriMo Chapter and runs the Pee Dee Writers. She is also the co-admin for The Writer’s Cafe on Slack. Ashley has been writing for almost as long as she can remember but never seemed to finish anything until she found NaNoWriMo in 2010. NaNoWriMo, and the community of writers she found with it, was exactly the type of motivation she needed.

 

Ashley has two complete rough drafts that were written during NaNoWriMo.

 

Alias is a thriller with romantic elements that is morphing from a standalone novel into a trilogy. Book One follows Special Agent Jane Platt while she is undercover in Mexico investigating an ex-pat turned drug lord. Jane uncovers the hard truth about her government employer but lets her target get a little too close to her heart.

 

Phoenix Rising is an Urban Fantasy that follows Elizabeth Monroe and a ragtag group of supernaturals on a quest to destroy the evil sorcerer Kalais before his quest for immortality not only destroys the realms but drains Liz of her blood.

 

These drafts are currently in revisions, but Ashley hopes to start querying in the next year.

 

When not writing, Ashley is owned by four feline furbabies and one dog named Thor. During the day, she teaches music to elementary children and directs “A Choired Taste”, a show choir in Darlington. She also sings with the Masterworks Choir. Appearances with that group have included Carnegie Hall, St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, and St. Mark's Basilica in Venice.
