Preptober Advice of the Week
Great stories start with great characters. Begin creating your main characters. Who are the protagonists? Who are the antagonists? What do they want? What's their history? What needs to change about them so they can reach their goal?
Upcoming Events
There are two NaNo Prep Webcasts you should know about:
October 11 -- "How To Write a Novel This November"
October 15 -- "Find Time to Write!"
Information on these webcasts and how to sign up are on the events page on the NaNo website. Just log into your account, select the "Inspiration" drop down box, and select "NaNo events". Easy Peasy.
Adoption Society Forum
If you're having trouble coming up with an idea, title, or anything world-building related, take a look at the adoption forum on the NaNo site! It's a great resource that will help you save a few brain cells.
Bring Your Own Writing Buddy Week
It's Bring Your Own Writing Buddy Week! We want more people to take part in NaNoWriMo and I would love to have more people at write-ins. If you have a friend who's been talking about writing a novel, invite them to NaNo!
Obnoxious Reminder to Announce Your Novel
Have you done it yet? No? Why not?? Do it, even if all you can enter is "Blippity Boppity Boo". You can change it later. The important thing right now is to commit.
Inspirational Quote of the Week
Study the tricks of the writers who have arrived. They have mastered the tools with which you are cutting your fingers. They are doing things, and their work bears the internal evidence of how it is done. Don’t wait for some good Samaritan to tell you, but dig it out for yourself. -- Jack London
