MidPoint of NaNoWriMo!

This week's blog post is a couple of days late because I went camping over the weekend, got back late Monday (just in time for the write-in at Panera), and then life body-slammed me on Tuesday. But here we are today!

(I suppose I could have written the post ahead of time and scheduled it. No one has ever accused me of planning ahead very well. Y'all still love me, right?)

We're at the midpoint of NaNoWriMo. How is everyone doing? I'm behind on my word count but I haven't given up! Neither should you!

This Week's Write-Ins

Saturday, November 17, 10 AM to 10 PM, DAY OF WRITING DANGEROUSLY -- A drop-in event. Come write for as long as you like (between those times)! RSVP on the Facebook page so you can receive the address.

Saturday, November 17, 8 PM to 10 PM, Online Write-In in the NaNo Chatroom

This Week's Pep Talk

Justina Ireland, author of New York Times bestseller Dread Nation, gives this week's pep talk. Here's an excerpt:

Writing sucks.

That’s likely something you’ve thought recently. Whether you’re chugging along making your daily word goal or you fell off of the wagon on day one (it happens!), you’re probably wondering whether all of this angst and doubt is worth it. After all, why should you write a book in the first place? You could watch Netflix instead.

NaNoWriMo Inspirational Quote of the Week

Do not place a photograph of your favourite author on your desk, especially if the author is one of the famous ones who committed suicide.  —  Roddy Doyle
